Plant smaller than C . giganteum, raceme with fewer flowers. Corolla to 14cm long, white speckled red-purple inside. Tepals fused at the base and sligthly spurred. Stamens deflexed upwards. Anthers basifixed. Bracts seem to be deciduous but said to be persistent in the Flora. This species is very similar to C. giganteum and mainly differs by its size and few flowers.

Locality: China, Anhui, Huang Shan, Yellow mountains.
