The package is a computerised version of the Sorbus taxonomy key developed By Dr H McAllister, initially in his booklet, "The Rowan and its Relatives" and more fully in "The Genus Sorbus, Mountain Ash and other Rowans". The taxonometric text is © Dr H McAllister.

SOURCE CODE

The package was created using VB6.0. and requires MSWindows to run. The 'About' feature is for 64 bit systems

It was developed and tested under W7 and it is not known if it will work with another OS, (information welcomed).

INSTALLATION

Unzip the file and double click the 'setup.exe' file and accept the defaults with the possible exception of the program folder. As with most 'SetUp' programs, by default this will  install the package in a sub directory of the 'Program Files' folder. If you want it to go somewhere else, click and select/enter the name of an alternative folder. If the folder doesn't already exist, the program will create it.

The actual program is called rowan_key.exe
